First the facts: Friday night was working, to a point, until the pool operators moved us to 7pm then attendance fell away and we are now faced with a situation where something had to be done or the Club would close. The problem with the Friday is that 7pm start does not give folk time to get home, eat, change and journey to the Centre
The committee met with the GLL manager to discuss the problem and ask if we could move the 7pm Friday slot to 4pm on Saturdays. The Centre currently closes at 4pm on Saturday We were given a straight NO to this proposal
However, there is a glimmer of light ahead. There is a second facility in Sleaford, also managed by GLL and which we used when the Centre was being refurbished. The manager there has contacted us and offered us a slot on Saturdays 4-6pm. This has been accepted with the hope that those members who could not make the Friday slot will be free on a Saturday and we could see some of our old friends returning.
The new venue is called Better Gym and is located on the B1715 at Oakside Park Industrial Estate on East Road NG34 7EH.
The easiest way to find it is to turn down East Road and go straight on at the traffic lights heading towards Cogglesford Water Mill, Continue past the Mill carpark for about 1/2 mile to Kwik Fir on the right. The Gym is next left
Facilities at the Better Gym are a smaller pool (10M) but includes sauna, steam and gym. For the time being the prices will remain the same as now but an increase was due at the Centre and Better Gym will also increase. The new prices will be from January 2024. Members £5, Visitors £10, Family children free
We start at the new venue on14th October then 2nd and 4th as usual
