It has been an eventful year with the Leisure Centre closing three months earlier than previously notified, however, with some luck and hard work the committee were successful in sorting out a programme for the twelve months of the closure. There has been a slight fall off in numbers since October but that could be down to seasonal changes as much as the extra travelling.
The annual dinner at the Tally Ho was a mixed success. 28 members and guests attended and the atmosphere was very good. Regrettably the service was not up to the mark and some, including the writer, were less than satisfied. We will be looking for an alternative venue for next year. If you have any suggestions, please pass them on to the committee.
The last swim was the poolside party at Sleaford Fitness Centre. As always this went down very well and the two girls on duty were very helpful as usual. Good to see that one of them won a prize in the raffle.
Our next meet is at Sleaford Fitness Centre on 12 Jan. So have a very Happy Christmas and we will see you in the New Year.

END OF MONTH ONE
As they say "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". Our first month of the new schedule was October and we enjoyed two successful swims so the next year is looking good.
Talking of eating. Next on the agenda is the Christmas Dinner,. The venue is booked at the Tally Ho Inn, same as last year and with the same superb chef in charge. As usual the cost of the dinner is subsidised by the Club so you only pay £17 each. The date of the dinner is Saturday 1 Dec so we need to finalise the details ASAP. Speaking for myself the hardest part of this exercise is choosing from the extensive menu, it's two pages. The event is open to everyone, members and visitors with their guests (It is textile). So, see any committee member and book your place or you can email me on our new email sleafordnude@gmail.com .Bon Appetit!

Au Revoir Sleaford Leisure Centre
We had our last swim in the old Leisure Centre on Saturday 22 September 2012. In order to mark this red letter day it was decided that there would be no charge for admission, much to the surprise of the members when they arrived. There was a good crowd of the regulars present and the Centre played it's part, going out with a bang. The Sauna and Steam Room had broken down during the previous week and on the night the pool heating had taken a walk on the wild side (like it was $0&ing chilly). We say "Au Revoir" not "Goodbye" because we will be back when the work is finished in October 2013.
Next meeting is at the Sleaford Fitness Centre on 13 October. It's only a small pool and very suitable for children. Don't forget also the earlier time of 6:30pm. Look forward to seeing you there.
On an admin note. The Swim has set up a new email in order to separate it from personal mails so in future the contact email for Sleaford Swim is: sleafordnude@gmail.com

One Last Swim To Go
The last swim at Sleaford Leisure Centre is on Saturday 22 September. Because there are 5 Saturdays in September 2012, there will then be a two week break until the first event at Sleaford Fitness Centre, on 13 October. After this we will be continuing with the Sleaford & Bourne combo as published in the previous posting. Actually we are all looking forward to this as it will be something different. That said; we are especially looking forward to returning to our own home at the Leisure Centre once the refurbishment is complete.
As always we will be very happy to welcome visitors to our events at both centres. You don't need ID you don't need an appointment, just turn up with your towel.
Talking of towels, the sitting out area in the foyer of Sleaford Fitness Centre has rather comfy upholstered seating. We do not want to spoil the covers so please bring an extra towel which can be kept dry for sitting on in the foyer.

Latest News (like the curate's egg. It's good in parts)
After a long period of being deafened by silence, Malcolm emailed the Project Manager at Sleaford. The good news.
Sleaford have accepted all the recommendations made by the various groups, which includes us, at the consultation meetings. The improved spec now includes: Sauna, Steam, Splash Pool (for the kiddies),Larger Gym, Larger Reception and more spectator seating.
OK now the bad news.
The pool will now close on 8th October 2012. That's 3 months earlier than the original plan.RAFC Cranwell cannot/will not accommodate us on a Saturday evening. Draw your own conclusions.
What can be done about it.
As previously stated the Club committee have been exploring possibilities outside of what the Kesteven Council are doing. AND WE HAVE A RESULT!!Bourne Leisure Centre have been approached. They are very enthusiastic and would be pleased to let us use their facilities. However, don't cheer just yet; there are a few details still to be sorted out, such as costs, lifeguards etc. But it is looking hopeful.

All quiet on the Sleaford front
After a promising start, North Kesteven have not produced
any new information regarding the refurbishment of the Leisure Centre. Although to be fair, we are probably still in
the drawing office phase. We will add
any information to the blog as soon as we have it.
The club held the annual AGM on 10 March. We learn that the membership is strong and
that the finances are healthy. The
members were also given a brief on the state of play with the
refurbishment. At the next swim on 24
March we hosted the annual visit of Suntreckers. A long standing arrangement with this group
is that they are charged at the members rate when they visit as one of their
rallies. We enjoy their visits and are
sure that they do too.

Sleaford
Swim was started by a group of naturists in the Autumn
of 1988, meeting at Sleaford Leisure Centre, Eastbanks, Sleaford.
At first the group met every
three weeks, on a Saturday, then after a couple of years changed to two weekly
intervals in the winter and three weekly in the summer. However, in the late ‘90s the committee
decided to standardise the meeting times as every 2nd and
4th Saturday in the month and this arrangement continues to this
day.
At Sleaford we welcome all
Naturists and people interested in trying Naturism for the first time. We pride ourselves on our reputation for
being a very friendly club and visitors are always welcome to attend our
events
However, the facilities at Sleaford Leisure Centre are well overdue for upgrading and moved are currently afoot to make this happen.
The purpose of this blog is to inform Club Members and other interested parties of progress and arrangements for the continuation of the Club whilst the work is being carried out.
THE FIRST NEWS
Last Wednesday, 8 Feb 12, Malcolm and Mansell attended a meeting at Sleaford where we were briefed on progress to date and the future plans for the Centre. An artist's impression of the new facility was provided and this in on display on the Club notice board. The project is exciting and the eventual results look very promising. Most importantly the authorities are keen to listen to the users and take note of their views, this was the reason for the meeting.
This blog will be updated periodically as your committee get to know the details. For now the important dates: Work to start in January 2013 and the Centre is planned to reopen in January 2014. Negotiations are going on with other pools to accommodate the user clubs and groups, such as ours, during the down time.
